Musician Biography

Richard Posner

Richard is in his third season with the CSO and hails from Chicago where he has been a free-lancer for several years. While in Chicago, Mr. Posner's many activities included serving as concertmaster of the Lake Forest Symphony, various ballet companies (including the Bolshoi, Kirov, Moscow and Nutcracker Ballet), first-call substitute with the Chicago Symphony, and a member of both the Lyric Opera and Grant Park Symphonies. Previously, Mr. Posner has been concertmaster of the Phoenix and Spokane Symphonies, the Florida Symphony, principal 2nd violin of the Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia, assistant concermaster of the Indianapolis Symphony, and a member of the Rochester Philharmonic and Chautauqua Symphony.
